The world of work is rapidly changing thanks to technological advances, and the shift is expected to accelerate. Automation and artificial intelligence are causing many Americans to wonder how much longer their jobs will last and how much new learning they’re going to have to do to keep a post.

New America has done an analysis of a few cities to gauge what could come next in employment. It’s called "Automation Nation: Three Cities Preparing for the Future of Work." Phoenix is one of the cities, along with Indianapolis and South Bend, Indiana.

Molly Martin was involved with the report. She is the director of New America in Indianapolis, and she joined The Show to talk about the unique challenges each city — including Phoenix — faces when it comes to automation.
