How Our View Of Pluto Has Changed Since 1930

NASA's New Horizons started sending back the most detailed photos of Pluto ever seen — with many more to come as the spacecraft continues to transmit images.

The first photo ever taken of Pluto was back in 1930 at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff. This animated GIF, posted Wednesday on NASA's site, shows just how far we've come since that blurry image captured by astronomer Clyde Tombaugh.
