Valley residents know what all the sniffling and sneezing around the office lately means-- it's allergy season.

Dr. Tara Carr is an allergist immunologist with the Banner-University Medical Center Tucson hospital. She says, "Historically, pollen counts increase with the warmer weather. As soon as it starts to be a little bit longer days and we stop having those cold freezes at nighttime, it’ll send signals to the plants to start blooming and pollinating."

Carr also says that she anticipates there will be lots of pollen during this El Nino year. She recommends that if you have allergies, you start treating them now as a preventive method.
