Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell said she’s looking for more public input on the county’s polling places ahead of Arizona’s primary election.

Approval of the 724 polling places was set to be an agenda item for the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors July 20. Then Purcell asked the board to move that vote until the August 3 meeting, in order to accommodate more public comments.

The unofficial list of polling places has been posted on the county’s election department website since last month.

Purcell was heavily scrutinized after Arizona’s Presidential Preference Election in March, when some people waited in line for hours to cast their vote. In the state’s primary, set for Aug. 30, voters will choose party candidates to run for state and county offices.
