Among this year's political candidates with notable namesakes, Democrat James Woods is making his first run for the United States House of Representatives in Arizona's Fifth District. (It's currently represented by Matt Salmon.)

Woods is blind. He lost his sight at the age of 26 because of complications related to an antibiotic-resistant infection and his Type-1 Diabetes.

Improving accessibility for disabled voters is an important part of his campaign. Woods told KJZZ's Steve Goldstein about the first time he voted -- in 2008 -- after going blind.
