Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission

Earlier this summer, Gov. Doug Ducey signed an executive order banning state agencies and departments from hiring contract lobbyists. At the same time, he set up a system for those agencies to request an exemption from that order.

One of those taking the governor up on that is the Citizens Clean Elections Commission, which argues the executive order doesn’t actually apply to it. This comes on the heels of other disagreements between the commission and the executive branch.

Jeremy Duda writes about this in the Arizona Capitol Times.
