The reach of artificial intelligence in our lives is growing, and its impact is especially great in the realm of national defense.
The U.S. is using more drones and other programmed items to pursue adversaries and terrorists.
That has some around the world getting worried about those AI weapons becoming fully autonomous.
That’s led to an effort by Human Rights Watch called the Campaign to Stop Killer Robots.
Heather Roff, a research scientist with ASU’s Global Security Initiative, has testified about the topic before the United Nations and joined KJZZ's The Show to explain what’s going on.
