Offices have been transforming over the past several years — cubicles are out, open spaces are in — and there’s been an emphasis on creating places for people to work together.
But wide open work spaces can lead to more noise — and not just the kind we hear.
Sally Augustin is an applied environmental psychologist. She thinks about how things in the world around us affect our attitudes and behaviors, and makes recommendations to organizations who are designing spaces. She’s a principal at a firm called Design With Science.
