Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey is in Rhode Island on Thursday and Friday this week. As one of the keynote speakers at the National Governors Association Meeting, he will head up panels discussing domestic and foreign trade.

Several other U.S. state governors and leaders from both Canada and Mexico will join the discussion.

Ducey has cautioned the White House on its border and trade policies in the past and will shed light on what he calls hard work building relationships with Arizona’s number one foreign trade partner, Mexico.

He recently credited Mexico for helping Arizona shift into what he calls the country’s new technology “car capitol.”

Late last year, he announced Lucid Motors will bring a $700 million electric car manufacturing plant to Casa Grande thanks, in part, to an ongoing partnership with Mexico.
