Demand For Nurses Is Growing In Arizona, Across U.S.

The physician shortage in Arizona has received considerable attention and created a lot of worries. Now we’re learning more about the growing need for new nurses in the state and across the country.

As our population is growing older, the shortage becomes increasingly dramatic, with one study showing up to 50,000 openings for nurses in Arizona in the next decade.

Creighton University, based in Nebraska, is bringing a bachelor of science in nursing program to the Valley as it extends its partnership with St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.

We spoke with Catherine Todero, dean of Creighton’s College of Nursing.
