At least seven other fire departments helped Bisbee firefighters.

Bisbee's City Hall sets up temporary operations at a nearby vacant school after fire gutted the historic building Wednesday morning.

The  fire that ripped through Bisbee's historic City Hall  and gutted the building is not stopping daily operations.

In a town meeting Wednesday night, Interim City Manager Robert Smith said employees will report to a nearby vacant school Thursday morning and work from there while investigations and repairs are underway at the historic building.

Smith credited Bisbee's fire department for saving critical I.T. equipment needed for online business.

"We'll be pursuing our financial processes as quickly as we can and we have payroll we need to get out and some bills to pay," he assured the crowd.

Phone lines were interrupted and may take a little time to bring into service.

Smith said the site is under investigation for possible arson, it is unsafe and being gated off to keep curiosity seekers from interfering with investigators and construction crews.
