Athletes have used some form of cold treatment for decades in the attempt to help their bodies recover from training or injuries.

Recently, advances in the realm of cryotherapy have caused some dramatic shifts.

Rather than jumping into an ice bath, some legendary pros like LeBron James and Kobe Bryant are using whole body cryotherapy. It involves stepping into a chamber and being immersed in temperatures that could approach 240 degrees below zero.

The process is intended to improve blood circulation.
