Realtors' Role In Promoting Fair Housing, 50 Years Later

Fifty years ago this month, in 1968, the Fair Housing Act was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson. At the height of the civil rights movement, the law provided broad protections for minorities who were looking for a place to live.

Here in Phoenix and across the country, housing discrimination was widespread then — and still is today. Because of this, realtors are some of the industry players who have to work to prevent it.
