There are 33 U.S. Senate seats up for grabs this year with a record 42 women running across the country. Currently, less than a quarter of the Senate's members are women.

Political analysts credit the #MeToo movement for motivating the surge of women running, but also note more women stand to lose seats as incumbent female candidates seek higher office and square off against each other.

They've placed the odds on a woman winning Arizona U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake's seat where six candidates are women.

Democratic U.S. Reps. Kyrsten Sinema and Republican U.S. Reps. Martha McSally are in the lead while Democrats Deedra Abboud, Cheryl Fowler, and Republicans Michelle Griffin and Kelli Ward are the other four women running.
