Republican Don Shooter was expelled from the Arizona Legislature on Feb. 2, 2018.

Hoping to make a comeback after his expulsion from the ArizonaLegislature, Don Shooter is back on the campaign trail after a judge declared he does in fact live in the Yuma district he hopes to represent. Local media wasn’t allowed in at a campaign event Thursday.

According to TV news station KYMA, Don Shooter held an event with the local Tea Party at a Yuma church.

It was advertised as open to the public, but a KYMA news crew was turned away at the door.

Anchor Jenny Day reported one of the station’s photographers was approached by an armed man, telling him the media wasn’t welcome.

“We sent two separate crews to the event and were not allowed in. Our photographer even says one of the people in attendance flashed his weapon and told him to get out," said Day.

In an email, KYMA says the photographer did not feel threatened by the armed man but thought it was a rude gesture.
