What Are Arizona's Plans For Election Security?

A $380 million package doled out by Congress earlier this year to all 50 states is intended to go toward election security. Arizona received about $7.5 million of that allotment.

Considering the state is one that was targeted by election hackers in 2016, the funds are seriously needed. In addition, a report issued by House Democrats called Arizona one of the 18 most vulnerable states when it comes to election security.

So how serious is the problem? How much is software and hardware-related, and how much is about changing hearts and minds?

The Show heard from Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes about what his office is doing.

The Show also spoke with Jamie Winterton. She is director of strategic research initiatives for ASU’s Global Security Initiative.
