Two companies recently announced plans to hire more than 2,000 workers in the Valley.

India-based Infosys says it will hire 1,000 Arizona workers over the next five years. The company plans to open a technology and innovation hub in metro Phoenix and focus on autonomous technologies, Internet of Things, data science and cyber security.

Infosys has two technology and innovation hubs in the United States- Indianapolis, Indiana, and Raleigh, North Carolina, and announced another one is planned for Hartford, Connecticut.

In a prepared statement, Ravi Kumar, Infosys president said he was excited about the Phoenix expansion, “This investment will strengthen our ability to deliver for our clients across Arizona and the Southwest and expand the local workforce to help our clients compete in the rapidly digitizing global economy.”

While Infosys is still researching a location for its Phoenix hub, an international call center company recently opened its fourth Valley office off Interstate 17 and Thunderbird Road in Phoenix. Valor Global Services says it is working to open a fifth location and plans to hire more than 1,000 Arizonans over the next year.

The company is headquartered in Scottsdale and has offices in Costa Rica and the Phillipines.

“While we may be a smaller player compared to the billion-dollar companies, our team continues to outperform our competitors with every customer we support,” Tome DePoy, president, said in a prepared statement.
