Internet outages continue throughout the country Friday, more than half a day after CenturyLink predicted full services would be restored in a matter of hours.

"We discovered some additional technical problems as our service restoration efforts were underway," said a CenturyLink spokeswoman Friday morning.

She declined to give an estimate on the number of customers affected or provide details on the reason for the outages.

911 emergency call services were impacted in 10 states, including the Cochise County Sheriff’s department.

The department said anyone who cannot reach a 911 dispatcher can call 520-249-6714 or 520-249-6713.

Jessica Rosenworcel, a member of the Federal Communications Commission, said via Twitter that this was a "nationwide outage" and her agency needed to investigate.

Updates from the company will be posted on Twitter.
