The Show regularly checks in with Editorial Board of the Arizona Republic to talk about the big issues facing the state and the region — featured in the newspaper’s Viewpoints section.

A photo on the wall of a Phoenix restaurant generated controversy recently because it depicts a group of miners with soot on their faces that some have interpreted as a disrespectful form of blackface. Criticism has also been lodged recently by a New York Times contributor about a scene in Mary Poppins where the title character gets soot on her face during a dance with a chimney sweep.

Arizona Republic Editorial Director Phil Boas joined The Show for his weekly appearance to talk about it.
