The number of Arizonans enrolled in the Affordable Care Act has exceeded last year’s total by more than 40,000 and there’s still another month to go in the open enrollment period.

The U.S. Health and Human Services Department reports more than 160 thousand people signed up for a new plan or renewed an existing plan.

This year’s open enrollment period ends Feb. 15.
