Gov. Doug Ducey has made the latest pick for the Arizona Supreme Court: James Beene, currently a judge on the Arizona Court of Appeals, will replace John Pelander, who announced his retirement earlier this year.

The 54-year-old Beene was one of five finalists from whom the governor could choose, and with this selection, Ducey has now named four of the seven justices, with another decision coming to replace the retiring Scott Bales.

To talk about the newest state Supreme Court justice, The Show spoke to Pat Irvine, an attorney with the firm Fennemore Craig and a former Judge on the Arizona Court of Appeals.
