ADOT Says No Major Accidents After Monday's Heavy Snow Fall

Monday’s winter storm that dumped several inches of snow in and around Flagstaff has finally moved out of the area. Despite some tough driving conditions, Arizona Department of Transportation spokesman Tom Herrmann says there were no major accidents.

"The biggest issue we had were people sliding off the roadways. They’d hit a slick spot going too fast. Sometimes people in a four-wheel drive vehicle get a little too confident and hit a slippery spot and slide off the roadway. We had a number of those kinds of cases both on freeways and state routes yesterday," said Herrmann.

Herrmann said temperatures are still below freezing Tuesday morning so ice is a possibility. The National Weather Service is reporting a 60 percent chance of precipitation, with 1-to-3 inches of snow at the higher elevations.
