Condors Are Making A Comeback, But Still Face Threats

California Condors have been considered an endangered species for nearly 50 years. Conservationists say their numbers have been increasing, although the birds still face dangers from lead poisoning, mainly from eating prey that was killed by lead bullets.

Flagstaff-based Wildlife Photographer John Sherman has a portfolio of his images of condors in the August edition of Arizona Highways Magazine.

Condors are making a comeback, but how much of one? To find out, we turn to Chris Parish, the Condor Program Coordinator for the Peregrine Fund.
