The app allows users to file their complaints in four steps.

Since FAA flight path changes went into effect in September of 2014, Sky Harbor airport officials have received more than 27,000 noise complaints.

Now, residents living in the affected neighborhoods have another tool to communicate their frustration: an app. The smartphone application is another effort to communicate the problems of the flight path changes to federal officials.

"There are many efforts are underway," said Julie Rodriguez with Sky Harbor. "We have members of congress working on. It is being worked on from legal angle. And then in the meantime, these comments and concerns that come in from the public are being regularly forwarded to the FAA."

Sky Harbor receives between 1,500 and 2,800 noise complaints each month.

The app was launched earlier this week by the city’s Aviation Department after requests for an easier way to report complaints. It allows users to file their complaints in four steps. Before the app was launched, residents filed complaints online and over the phone.
