Arizona’s unemployment rate was unchanged last month from February, at 7.3 percent.

The state added more than 15,000 non-farm jobs last month, with all of them coming in the private sector, according to the state Department of Administration.

Professional and business services added the most jobs among the industries the state tracks, followed by leisure and hospitality. Both were higher than the ten-year average, with professional and business services more than doubling that number.

Two sectors lost jobs last month — financial activities and government.

Arizona’s overall job gains last month were also higher than the ten-year average. The state’s unemployment rate for March, though, remains higher than the national one, which stood at 6.7 percent.
