Individuals and businesses that received an Arizona state tax filing extension for fiscal year 2016 have a deadline rapidly approaching. 

More than 177,000 taxpayers received a six-month extension for filing their individual income taxes. The Arizona Department of Revenue is reminding those individuals and businesses of the October 16 deadline to submit their tax returns.

While individuals are encouraged to file electronically, businesses currently lack the ability to e-file corporate income tax returns in Arizona.

However, under House Bill 2280, which took effect in August, annual electronic filing of corporate income tax, fiduciary and partnership returns will begin in tax year 2020.
