Despite passing on Arizona for the site of its upcoming second headquarters, Amazon is expanding in the state, into Tucson.

The company announced Wednesday that Tucson will be the home of a new fulfillment center, bringing 1,500 new jobs to the city. Employees at the center will pick, pack and ship small items like books, electronics, household items and toys.

Amazon operates four other fulfillment centers and other facilities across the state, and the company employs more than 7,000 full-time workers in Arizona.

Officials anticipate opening the facility in the summer of 2019.
