Can Diplomacy Solve The So-Called Border Crisis?

Since President Trump launched his campaign by saying that Mexican immigrants are rapists, the rhetoric about our neighbor to the south has remained heated.

From the initial demand that Mexico will pay for a border wall, to a national emergency declaration to pay for it, so much has been focused on building security on the border. It can be easy to forget about other approaches to easing immigration — like diplomacy.

Has Trump's administration abandoned other approaches to solve the so-called crisis at the border?

To answer that question, The Show spoke with international relations expert David Shirk.
