5G Wireless Frequencies Could Disrupt Weather Forecasts

5G technology is being talked up as one of the next big things that could make our lives easier.

5G is supposed to make smartphones faster and more reliable. Tired of having to recharge the battery frequently? 5G may even help with that.

But as the Federal Communications Commission is auctioning off frequencies that can be used for 5G, there are major concerns about how close some of those frequencies could come to disrupting weather forecasts around the world.

Jordan Gerth, research meteorologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, joined The Show to discuss the specific concerns.
